Our beautiful boy has severe allergies and his skin gets extremely red, itchy and then raw from the irritation and scratching, especially when allergy season is at its worse and he lays in the grass. We don’t want to keep him from doing what he loves and living his best life so I researched lotions, creams, ointments and balms for dogs and this is by far THE BEST one I found!! Most of the others either weren’t natural, or if they were, it wasn’t safe for dogs to lick the product. How frustrating would that be?! This one checked off all the boxes! All-natural ingredients, made here in America by a trusted company and it’s safe if the dog licks it (and what dog isn’t going to try licking it?) He doesn’t like to be touched or fooled with unless he’s being pet or player with, so that presented a challenge. But, we just followed the suggestion that came with the product of putting a treat in front of him to distract him. We put a bowl of peanut butter down in front of him and wow! I could have been cutting his leg off and I don’t think he would have noticed, lol! (Not that I would ever do that, of course. But these days, you sadly need to point out the obvious- and that was obviously a joke!) I was able to get a perfect amount of the balm on his lower belly, groin area and inside his legs (under all 4), and he let me even though the skin in those areas is very tender and sore. With just that ONE application, we noticed a marked difference!! He wasn’t chewing and gnawing at the area incessantly like he had been. In fact, he didn’t pay any attention to it at all, which was a clear indication that he felt a lot better! He licked the balm a bit here and there because I really went crazy slathering it on as quickly as I could everywhere, lol, and I think the greasiness felt a bit odd to him. But nothing to the point of being bothersome to him. He was much more relaxed and at ease since he wasn’t in pain or itchy anymore. He was visibly relieved! Which took a huge weight of worry off of our shoulders. He already has to deal with grand mal seizures after his recent diagnosis of canine epilepsy. This is now one less problem for him and for us to have to worry about. The vet was going to put him on some sort of steroid cream, which would have required he wear a cone of shame (which we’re extremely uncomfortable having him wear when he could possibly have a seizure at any given moment), and an antibiotic, all which would have cost a lot more, including an expensive vet visit. This saved us the trip and expense and it saved him the anxiety of going to the vet and suffering needlessly with the cone and meds he didn’t even need. His skin is healing so nicely now and he still hasn’t been bothered by it at all. The itch was so intense it would make him cry and gnaw at it for hours. What a relief for both him and for us that he’s no longer suffering! I plan to add more as needed but so far, one good coat is all that’s been necessary and it’s been a few days since I applied it. I got the 4 ounce tin so there is plenty left. It’s definitely worth the cost and saves you money in the end by not needing a vet trip or expensive meds (though be sure to consult with your vet about any new rash or skin irritations on your pet. This review does not constitute medical advice for your pet whatsoever). Thank you for creating such a wonderful, effective, safe and natural remedy for our precious pup!

This product really does work to soothe inflamed skin. Pleasant smell and consistency.

Long lasting and keeps my dog from picking all the time. Easy to clean. Works as it should. Very calming to my dogs skin. The taste must not be horrible cause it’s never made my dog sick. Will definitely buy again.

I got this for my dogs, they were itching like mad due to the weather changing and they were causing red marks on themselves. It’s easy to apply, its like a giant chapstick, but your dog may or may not like the smell. My one dog was fine with it, the second one ran off once he smelled it, but after he realized it was stopping his itching, he dealt with the smell. After a few weeks of using it, their red marks were gone and their constant itching was gone.

Like the smell and consistency. It definitely softens of the hardness in my dogs paws. Dog seems to really find it soothing as well. Usually when it’s super sticky or thick, and she’ll try to look it off or get it off of her paws immediately. She didn’t do that.

My dog got a few small hot spots on her lower stomach from squatting really low on the grass to do her business during the humid summer buggy season. To help fix this I did three things: 1. I put ear cleaning solution onto a cotton ball and used that to swipe the area clean. This works great as it had antifungals and soothing ingredients that are good for calming down the rash. After it dried I would put a layer of the balm on top to seal it in and keep it moisturized. Finally, I supplemented her food with fish oil or hemp oil to help support her skin and coat. It cleared up in a few days which was amazing! Just make sure to take your pet to the vet if the issue is persistent because it could signify that something bigger is going on. Also keep an eye out for any negative reactions from your dog. The scent can be aggravating and uncomfortable for some animals.

I used this on my dry-skinned dog after a bath and she didn’t scratch for the rest of the day. Woke up the next morning to her scratching again.. I think I need more time to test this product.
It smells really good to me. It’s a thick pomade/grease consistently! Easy to use and melts kinda like butter into my dog’s skin.
The size of the 1oz tin is decent enough. It’ll last multiple times for a small-medium dog and maybe a couple times for a large – XL dog!

I ordered this for my dog who was suffering with dry, cracked, nose and ears. I have used the product on her twice now and have already seen a huge improvement. It is super easy to apply, with the ginormous chap stick style applicator. I’m happy to have a healthy option to make her more comfortable in this winter weather.
